Welcome

Faith is vital in our restless society. But faith in what or perhaps better yet, in who? Is faith simply an abstract hope? A hope that this will happen or that things will improve?

The Bible gives answers to questions such as these that are relevant for us today. At Greensboro Baptist Church we study God’s Word to find His answers to help us in these days. The Bible tells us about trusting Jesus Christ and why we should put our faith in Him. We find answers that help us face the perplexities of this life. Faith in Jesus Christ gives answers both for the questions of eternity and the problems that we deal with while here on this earth.

Verse For The Week

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Colossians 1:16-17

Thought For The Week

In Colossians 1:15-20, the supremacy of Jesus, the beloved Son of God (v. 13), comes into focus. Included in the credits that speak of Christ’s incomparable excellence is the term “firstborn” (vv. 15,18). This word isn’t a reference to birth order—as if Christ was the first in a line of created beings. Rather, it speaks of Him—“the image of the invisible God” (v. 15)—as the head (source) of and ruler over all things (vv. 16-19) ... Hebrews also corroborates this: “In these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe” (1:2). Arthur Jackson (ODB)
